This legislation raises the age of juvenile court jurisdiction from 17 to 18 years of age, keeping youth out of adult court. Michigan passed this legislation on October 31st, 2019.

Now that Raise the Age has passed in Michigan, it's time to focus on next steps. Raise the Age was a major victory for youth justice in Michigan, but our work isn't over. Next up is implementation of Raise the Age. Check back often for more updates on youth justice in Michigan.
