Senate Judiciary Hearing on Raise the Age
The Michigan State Senate Judiciary Committee is scheduled to meet on Tuesday, Oct. 18 at 3pm to hear testimony on the "youth in prison" bill package, including raising the age of of juvenile court jurisdiction to 18 and reducing the number of youth in prisons and jails. We need your help to "pack the house" with Raise the Age MI supporters! If you're able to attend, your voice can be heard by preparing written testimony as well as submitting a card in support of the legislation. Let's make sure that the committee members know that Michigan believes in treating kids as kids!
Use the Raise the Age MI Communications Toolkit for talking points, answers to difficult questions, sample Tweets and much more!
Prepare written testimony for the Michigan Senate by using the campaign's template (make sure to bring 10 copies for the whole committee!)
